Sean Marshall has moved from the States to Germany, signing Telekom Baskets Bonn for the rest of the season. Marshall, a 6-foot-6 forward in his ninth year of professional basketball, had been playing in the United States for the Westchester Knights of the NBA Development League for the first half of the 2015-2016 season, averaging 11.2 points and 5.6 rebounds for the Knights. Marshall spent last season in Turkey playing for Trabzonspor, averaging 9.5 points and 2.9 rebounds in various competitions. Germany will be the fifth country that the Boston College grad has played in in his career, spending most of it playing for various teams in Turkey.
LaQuinton Ross has signed with Hapoel Eilat, a team in Israel's first division. The league confirmed the news Jan. 5:
Ross comes to Eilat from Pallacanestro Cantu, an Italian club Ross played in 11 games for so far this season, averaging 10.9 points and 6.6 rebounds per game. He played his last game for Cantu Dec. 27. The Ohio State grad had spent his entire career in Italy until signing with Eilat, playing his rookie season with Victoria Libertas and his sophomore campaign (last season) with Cantu.
After spending the first part of the season in China, Yancy Gates is headed to Germany. Gates signed with Telekom Baskets Bonn, a team in Germany's first division, after playing in 20 games with Shanxi Zhongyu of the CBA, averaging 15.2 points and 8.1 rebounds per game. The Cincinnati grad has played primarily in Israel throughout his career, including suiting up for Hapoel Tel Aviv during the 2014-2015 season. Telekom Baskets Bonn currently sit at 13th in the Bundesliga table with a 6-11 record. |
