Hapoel Haifa has agreed to a deal with Jervon Pressley, a 6'8 PF/C out of Hampton University, after waiving Kerry Carter earlier in the week. Pressley arrives in Haifa after playing for four teams in four different countries over the course of his two-year career. After spending his rookie season in Germany in Slovakia, he played this year in Finland and Israel.
In Finland, Pressley averaged 12.0 points and 7.5 rebounds per game for Espoo United, and in the Israeli National League, he averaged 7.0 points and 1.8 rebounds per game in five appearances for Elitzur Kiryat Ata. He will be changing teams in Israel this time around, joining a Haifa side that is currently 8-13 in National League play.
The World Cup is less than 100 days away, and what a coincidence, our Baller of the Week this week plays in Russia! Codi Miller-McIntyre dropped 24 points in his team's dominating 104-84 win over BC Kalev/Cramo in addition to doubling his season average by dishing out a season-high 17 assists and collecting five rebounds.
This could be the game that gets Parma Basket out of its funk, and Miller-McIntyre's 17 of the team's 27 assists played a huge role in making that happen. Miller-McIntyre is averaging 16.3 points and 8.0 assists per game so far this season.
Chilean team Club Deportivo Valdivia has signed forward Kyle Spain, who has not suited up so far this season. Spain played for two teams in France last season, starting the year with Denain Voltaire in France's Pro B before ending the year by appearing in three games for ESSM Le Portel in France's top division. With Denain Voltaire he averaged 10.3 points and 5.7 rebounds per game in 27 games, and averaged 6.3 points per game with Le Portel.
Demitrius Conger has signed with FIATC Joventut in Spain. The team announced the signing earlier today. Conger comes to the Spanish side from Australia, where he played in 27 games for the Illawara Hawks, averaging 19.7 points, 5.7 rebounds and 2.7 assists per game for the team. The Hawks are currently in the middle of the pack in Australia's National Basketball League with a 12-16 record. Joventut is at the bottom of Liga Endesa, otherwise known as the ACB League in Spain, with a 4-15 record.
Hopefully Conger's scoring and playmaking abilities can spark some change for Joventut and help them avoid relegation this year. This will be the fifth country of Conger's career, though he has been in Europe since his career started in 2015 before his move to Illawarra this season. His most recent experience in Europe was spending the 2016-2017 season with the Antwerp Giants in Belgium.
Proximus Spirou in Belgium has added Terrance Henry to its roster, inking the 28-year-old forward for the rest of the season. Henry started the year in Switzerland with BBC Monthey, where he averaged 11.4 points and 4.7 rebounds per game in nine appearances.
The former Ole Miss star has prior experience in Belgium, having spent the 2016-2017 season with Kangoeroes Basket Willebroek where he averaged 11.7 points and 5.8 rebounds per game in 38 games for the club. Poximus Spirou will hope that his scoring and rebounding abilities help them in their chase for the Euromillions League title, as they currently sit in third place in the standings with an 11-7 record. Henry has also played in France and Cyprus, as well as in the NBA G League with the Fort Wayne Mad Ants. |
