Here's a situation for you. Let's say you're doing really well at work, but your boss doesn't want you working in that department so he fires you, and then hires you in a different department. That's what happened to JaJuan Johnson this past week when he was released by Krasny Oktybar (Russia) and signed with Pallacanestro Cantu (Italy).
Malcolm Delaney, who plays for Lokomotiv Kuban of the VTB United League, put up huge numbers in a game against Panathinaiko (Greece) in Euroleague play. Check out the video below!
LaMarcus Reed's time with SPO Rouen Basket (France) has come to a close. Multiple outlets report that Rouen parted ways with Reed after seven games together. Reed had averaged 3.4 points and 1.9 rebounds per game after putting up 8 points and 4 rebounds per game in Greece's top division last season. The fourth-year pro has also played in Cyprus, Sweden and Belgium. Nothing has been reported about where Reed is headed, or who Rouen will get to replace the guard.
Our Baller of the Week is David Logan, a dual American-Polish citizen who had an outstanding effort against Virtus Pallacanestro Bologna this past weekend. Logan put up 33 points, 4 assists and 3 steals in a losing effort, but Logan's numbers from deep are enough to give him Baller of the Week status. Logan also put up 12 points with 4 steals in a loss to Brose Baskets (Germany) in Euroleague play Nov. 13.
Point guard Malcolm Armstead has reportedly signed a deal with Greece's AEK Athens. Armstead, a third-year pro out of Wichita State, had been playing for Avtodor Saratov, a Russian team in the VTB United League, which contains teams from seven countries (primarily Russian teams). Armstead had been averaging 13 points and more than 5 assists per game for Saratov, and has signed with Athens through the end of the season. For the two seasons prior, Armstead had been playing in Slovenia Krka Novo Mesto. Jared Jordan, formerly of JDA Dijon Basket (France), has reportedly signed a short-term two month deal with German club WALTER Tigers Tubingen. Jordan has been signed to replace injured American Jesse Sanders who has been out since late October. Jordan has played in Germany two times before - for Telekom Baskets Bonn and Brose Baskets - and signed an initial two-month deal that could be longer depending on Sanders' recovery.
