According to multiple sources, forward Roscoe Smith has signed with Nea Kifisia, signing with the Greek club less than a month after leaving Ironi Nes Ziona of the Israeli first division. Smith is in his second year of professional basketball, having played in the NBA Development League (Los Angeles D-Fenders) in his rookie year. The UNLV grad is known for being a starter on the University of Connecticut's NCAA championship-winning team his freshman year (2011). Smith was also named to the NBA D-League All-Star Game in 2015, and spent the 2015 preseason playing for the Los Angeles Lakers. As reported by multiple outlets including Eurobasket, STB Le Havre (France) has released combo guard Garrius Adams. A second-year pro out of the University of Miami (FL), Adams played his first season in Belgium, putting up more than 11 points and 3.5 assists per game for Liege Basket in leading them to the cup final. Adams signed with Le Havre in August and averaged 5 points, 1.7 rebounds and 1.3 assists per game in LNB play, as well as scoring 8.5 points per game in two games in the FIBA Europe Cup.
UPDATE: STB Le Havre has signed point guard Willie Deane to replace Garrius Adams. Deane, who has dual American-Bulgarian citizenship, has been playing professionally since 2003, most recently with Krasny Oktyabr (Russia) during the 2014-2015 season. Deane played in France once before, competing for SLUC Nancy during the 2010-2011 season. |
