Point guard Dee Bost is on the move. Bost announced Dec. 11 that he was no longer with Zalgiris Kaunas, having made 16 appearances this season for the Lithuanian club, including six in the Euroleague.
BOTW takes us to Belgium this first week of December, where Kenyon McNeail had a monster game for Kangoeroes Basket Willebroek. McNeail doubled his season scoring average, dropping 32 points on 8-of-12 shooting to go along with four rebounds and six assists in Kangoeroes' 90-86 win over the Leuven Bears. His big game coupled with a victory his squad make him an easy pick for Baller of the Week.
Combo guard Allan Ray has signed with Lebansese team Byblos Club, Ballers Abroad has learned. This will be the first team of the season for Ray, who finished the 2016-2017 season with TED Ankara Kolejliler in Turkey after starting it with Pallacanestro Udinese in Italy. Ray is perhaps best known for suiting up for the Boston Celtics during the 2006-2007 season, playing in 47 total games for the Celtics that season.
Byblos could certainly use Ray's shooting skills and scoring ability as they have gotten out to a 1-6 start in Lebanese Basketball League play.
Hapoel Holon has added an American forward to its roster. The Israeli team signed Justin Martin to a contract early Dec. 1. Martin most recently played in Colombia for Caciques, where he averaged 12.6 points and 6.6 rebounds per game in seven games. The Southern Methodist grad spent last season in Russia, playing for Spartak Primorie Vladivostok in the Russian Superleague where he averaged 10.1 points and 7.0 rebounds per game for the Russian side. Hapoel Holon has had a terrific start to the season in the Israeli Winner League at 5-2, and Martin's arrival should help the team compete in the Basketball Champions League with some of the best clubs in Europe, where Holon is 1-5 so far in group play. |
