Big Country is back in Germany. John "Big Country" Bryant returns to the Basketball Bundesliga after a year away, signing with the Giessen 46ers for the 2017-2018 season. The 30-year-old center spent last season in Spain and France - his only international experience outside of Germany.
After starting his career with the Erie Bayhawks in the NBA G League, Bryant played for Ratiopharm Ulm from 2010-2013, and for Bayern Munich 2013-2016 and then signed with Valencia Basket for the 2016-2017 season. After playing in two games, he left and joined AS Monaco Basket, where he put up 6.5 points and 4.0 rebounds per game in six games played.
Bryant has played in more than 240 games in Germany's Basketball Bundesliga, and will be looking to help a 46ers team that just missed the playoffs after finishing the regular season in ninth place with a 15-17 record.
