American center James Thompson IV is going to play his second pro season in Germany after signing with Telekom Baskets Bonn in the Basketball Bundesliga, per several reports. The big man out of Eastern Michigan spent his rookie year split between Italy and South Korea, playing for Poderosa Pallacanestro Montegranaro in Italy's second division before morning to Seoul Samsung Thunder in the second half of the 2019-2020 season. The 25-year-old averaged 10.9 points and 7.9 rebounds per game combined as his field goal percentage reached 70 percent from the floor.
Thompson IV joins a Telekom Baskets team that is looking to rebound from a disappointing 4-16 record in BBL play despite going 8-6 in the Basketball Champions League and advancing to the Round of 16 in the competition. Telekom Baskets have also signed Americans Chris Babb, Josh Hagins and Xavier Pollard for the upcoming season.
