Well, we did it. We made it through an entire off-season of hoops! (insert praise hands emoji here)
Though the NBA regular season officially kicked off last night, the international hoops season is nearly in full swing. Several countries started their domestic leagues in late September/early October, and now with the NBA starting we've got basketball going strong all around the world! And with that, it's time to get back to one of our favorite recurring features - Baller of the Week!
The very first Baller of the Week of the 2019-2020 will take us to Italy, where John Brown III had a huge game for Happy Casa Brindisi, dropping a season-high 32 points, 7 rebounds and 2 assists in his team's 108-99 victory over VL Pesaro. In his second season with Brindisi, Brown has been an elite scorer throughout his career, and his 19.2 points and 5.4 rebounds per game has played a big part in Sassari's 4-1 start in Serie A play. If this game is a sign of things to come, we could see a career year for Brown, which made him an easy choice for our first Baller of the Week this season!
