It's quite possible that this is one of the most impressive Baller of the Week performances we've ever been able to honor, and it could be one of the best we ever do! To say Shane Larkin was on fire in his team's Euroleague game last week is an EXTREME understatement. Larkin hit 10 of 12 thee-pointers on his way to a career-high 49 points, the highest ever scored in a single game in the history of the Turkish Airlines Euroleague, for Anadolu Efes in their 104-75 victory over Bayern Munich.
The Euroleague is the most elite competition in the world outside the NBA, and while Larkin has had a good season in the competition (averaging 22.0 points per game), a 49-point outburst against one of Germany's top teams is more than enough to grab the attention of the basketball work. The team currently sits alone at the top of the Euroleague standings at 9-2, and after leading Efes to the Euroleague Finals last season, more performances like this from Larkin could see them going from finalist to champions of Europe - all of which is pretty good grounds for naming him Baller of the Week! |
