Combo guard DeAndre Kane is moving to Russia after signing with Nizhny Novgorod, Sportando and other outlets are reporting. The club announced the move on Twitter.
Kane started his career in Russia in 2014 but has not been back since, playing in Belgium, Germany and Israel before returning to Russia for the 2016-2017 season. The Iowa State product and former All-American played for two teams in two different countries last year, starting the season with ratiopharm Ulm in Germany and ending it with Hapoel Eilat in Israel. Kane put up 10.3 ppg, 5.5 rpg and 3.3 apg in 38 games played last season in all leagues and competitions, bumping up those averages to 12.6 points, 5.8 boards and 2.6 assists per game in Israel.
Nizhny Novgorod finished seventh in the VTB United League last season with a 17-13 record, losing in the quarterfinals of the VTB Playoffs to Unics Kazan. |
