AS Monaco Basket strengthened its roster earlier today by signing Jarrod Jones for the upcoming season. Jones comes to Monaco from Turkey, where the 28-year-old power forward played for Pinar Karisyaka in the Turkish Basketball Super League. In 47 games across all competitions, Jones averaged 17.7 points and 6.3 rebounds per game and was the third-leading scorer in the Basketball Champions League as Pinar advanced to the quarterfinal round. However, the team had a rough season domestically, finishing the BSL regular season with a 12-18 record and failing to qualify for the playoffs. Monaco is also very familiar with the Basketball Champions League having advanced to the finals of the BCL this past season, losing in the champinship to AEK Athens. They also lost in the finals of France's LNB Pro A.
Jones, a two-time Hungarian League champion, will be playing in France for the second time in his career, the first being a stop at JA Vichy-Clermont Metropole from 2015-2016. |
