Jon Diebler is the latest Baller Abroad to make a move, signing with Darussafaka in Turkey for the upcoming season. Diebler is no stranger to the Turkish Basketball Super League, having played there every season of his career other than his rookie year, which was spent in Greece. The Ohio State grad spent last season with Besiktas Sompo Japan where he averaged 10.3 points and 2.2 assists per game across all competitions for Besiktas, which included playing in the Basketball Champions League where the team advanced to the Round of 16.
Diebler joins one of the best teams in Europe in Darussafaka, which is coming off an underwhelming season domestically after losing in the quarterfinals of the BSL playoffs in Turkey. However, the team had great success in Europe, winning the EuroCup championship over Lokomotiv Kuban. Diebler joins fellow Americans Markel Brown, Cory Jefferson and Ray McCallum on the team. |
