Kendall Smith will reportedly sign with Crelan Okapi Aalstar in Belgium, according to Sportando and several outlets. Okapi Aalstar signed Smith to replace the departing shooting guard Brandon Rozzell. Smith joins Okapi from the Czech Republic, where he started his rookie season with long-time Czech power CEZ Nymburk. In 10 games, the Oklahoma State grad averaged 10.5 points and 3.8 assists per game for Nymburk, which included competing in the Basketball Champions League.
Okapi Aalstar could certainly use some fresh faces after a lackluster 2-6 start to their season, which includes having the worst defensive numbers in the league, allowing nearly 88 points per game. Smith is no stranger to new teams, having played at three different universities during his college years before graduating from Oklahoma State in 2018. |
