Power forward Romeo Travis has signed to play in Italy next season, inking with Pallacanesto Cantu after spending last year in France.
While Travis' career has taken him all around the world (including Israel, Philippines, Germany, Ukraine and Croatia, among others) he has never played in Italy in his ten-year career. He spent last season with two teams in France's ProA League, beginning the season with Strasbourg IG and ending it with Le Mans, putting up 9.5 ppg and 5.8 rpg in all competitions, which included Euroleague competition while with Strasbourg.
Travis is well-known for being a high school teammate and childhood friend of NBA superstar LeBron James at St. Vincent-St. Mary High School in Akron, Ohio. After graduating from the University of Akron in 2007 he began his international career which has taken him to nine countries. Cantu went 12-18 last season, finishing in eleventh place in Serie A. |
