Banvit BK has reportedly signed D.J. Shelton to a contract, per Sportando and several outlets. Shelton started the season with Tmoski-Minsk in the VTB United League, where he averaged 14.7 points and 7.0 rebounds per game in all competitions for the team, which included competing in the FIBA Europe Cup.
Kendall Smith will reportedly sign with Crelan Okapi Aalstar in Belgium, according to Sportando and several outlets. Okapi Aalstar signed Smith to replace the departing shooting guard Brandon Rozzell. Smith joins Okapi from the Czech Republic, where he started his rookie season with long-time Czech power CEZ Nymburk. In 10 games, the Oklahoma State grad averaged 10.5 points and 3.8 assists per game for Nymburk, which included competing in the Basketball Champions League.
Okapi Aalstar could certainly use some fresh faces after a lackluster 2-6 start to their season, which includes having the worst defensive numbers in the league, allowing nearly 88 points per game. Smith is no stranger to new teams, having played at three different universities during his college years before graduating from Oklahoma State in 2018.
Juwann James is the newest player for the Lugano Tigers in Switzerland after signing with the club early December 1. James has previous experience in Switzerland, having played for Union Neuchatel Basket during the 2016-2017 season, and Lions de Geneve from 2012-2016.
The 31-year-old has not played since his time with Neuchatel during the 2016-2017 season, where he averaged 12.7 points and 6.2 rebounds per game. The big man's experience in the Swiss League should help Lugano, who currently sits in the middle of the Swiss Basketball League standings with a 4-4 record. |
