Power forward Dario Hunt will play in Greece for the first time in his career after signing with Promitheas Patras in the Greek Basket League. Hunt joins the team after spending last season in Italy, where he averaged 10.5 points and 5.6 rebounds per game for Fortitudo Pallacanestro Bologna 103 in Lega Basket Serie A.
The Nevada grad will join a Promitheas Patras team that went 16-6 last season and advanced to the semifinals of the Greek Basket League playoffs, losing 3-2 to Lavrio BC. He will join fellow Americans Abdul Gaddy, Jerai Grant and Kendrick Ray on the squad.
Defending French champions ASVEL Basket strengthened their roster after adding point guard Chris Jones to the squad. Jones signed with the team after playing last season in the Israeli Winner League for Maccabi Tel Aviv.
Guard Paris Lee is the newest member of AS Monaco Basket after signing with the French team for the 2021-2022 season. Lee has experience playing in LNB Pro A, France's first division, averaging 14.6 points and 7.7 assists per game for Orleans Loiret Basket during the 2020-2021 season.
He joins a French power in AS Monaco, who hope to build off a 24-10 record and a semifinal finish in last season's playoffs. The Illinois State product will join fellow American Marcos Knight on the squad. Prior to coming to France, Lee has also played in Germany and Belgium.
Casademont Zaragoza in Spain's Liga ACB strengthened their roster by signing American center Jamel McLean. The big man arrives in Spain after playing in Germany for MHP Riesen Ludwigsburg in the Basketball Bundesliga, where he averaged 11.4 points and 5.4 rebounds per game in 23 games.
He joins a Zaragoza team that was on the outside of the playoff picture last season after finishing the regular season with a 13-22 record. McLean will play in Spain for the first time in his eleven-year career after stops in Belgium, Germany, Italy, Greece, Russia and Japan.
After spending a season in France and gaining Euroleague experience, shooting guard Allerik Freeman will return to Bursaspor Basketbol after signing with the Turkish side ahead of the 2021-2022 season. Freeman last played for Bursaspor in 2019, where he averaged 18.5 points, 4.6 rebounds and 4.1 assists per game.
American swingman B.J. Johnson will play pro hoops abroad for the first time after signing for Brisbane Bullets in the National Basketball League in Australia.
Rodney Purvis is the newest member of King Wilki Morskie Szczecin after the shooting guard reportedly signed with the Polish team Feb. 26. Purvis comes to King Szczecin from Italy, where he played for Bergamo Basket in the Italian Serie A2.
The 27-year-old shooting guard averaged 15.0 points, 2.3 rebounds and 2.7 assists for Bergamo, his second time playing in Italy. King Szczecin is working toward a playoff push, as they currently sit in seventh place in the PLK standings at 14-11. Purvis played in the NBA G League for the first two seasons of his career, which including time in the NBA with the Orlando Magin in 2018. He joins fellow Americans Tookie Brown, Michael Fakuade, Cleveland Melvin, Zach Thomas andDustin Ware on the roster. |
